I did some research to find the appropriate amounts to give my kids and I how I should divide the allowance so they were saving some and giving some to charity. I give my kids a $1 for every year and 60% of their allowance they can spend, 25% is saved and 15% is given to the charity of their choice. We use Chore Monster to set up their weekly chores that need to be completed in order to receive their allowance. It’s been fantastic! They help out more around the house and I’m teaching them financial responsibility.
